Gujo Hachiman, a castle town of water and dance

Remnants of historical townscapes are still preserved in Gujo Hachiman castle town,
known as an ancient city fostered by the clear waters that flow in little channels here and there through the town.
What's more, from July to September the "Gujo Odori" takes place (known as one of Japan's "big three" folk dances) and visitors flock to the town on days the dances are held.
Gujo Hachiman is located roughly in the center of Gifu Prefecture with excellent access to other sightseeing areas;
Takayama's old townscape and Shirakawa-go along with Nagoya are all reachable by car in under an hour and a half.
